Things to do in Milos

Milos is the main island of the western Cyclades, reached from Santorini's Athinios port by fast ferry in a couple of hours, roughly the same order as the crossing to Naxos, Paros or Sifnos — treat any minute-by-minute schedule online as approximate.

This page covers the island and its capital, Plaka, not the boat-tour coves of Kleftiko, the white rock landscape at Sarakiniko, or the small archipelago of Pollonia, Kimolos and Polyaigos to the north.

A day trip from Santorini means spending most of the day on the water rather than on Milos itself, so it suits travellers who want one full or overnight stay rather than a rushed round trip. Ferries run more frequently from April to October; winter connections thin out considerably.
