Things to do in Koufonisia & the Small Cyclades

Koufonisia is not one island but a small archipelago at the eastern edge of the Cyclades: Ano Koufonisi (the only inhabited one), Kato Koufonisi, and the barer islets of Keros and Schinoussa nearby, grouped with Irakleia and Donoussa under the name Small Cyclades.

There is no direct ferry from Santorini; getting here from Athinios means routing through a hub such as Naxos or Amorgos, and a day trip built around this stretch of sea spends most of its hours in transit rather than on land, so it suits travellers already island-hopping through the Cyclades rather than a single excursion from Santorini.

It works as a quieter add-on for those who have already covered Ios, Folegandros, Sikinos, Amorgos or Anafi and want smaller, less-developed islands next.
