Things to do in Kamari

Kamari sits on the black-pebble coast of southeastern Santorini, under the cliff face of Mesa Vouno, roughly 20 minutes by car or KTEL bus from Fira.

It has none of the caldera views of Fira or Oia and no link to those villages beyond the same island: this is a flat, walkable resort strip with sun loungers, a paved beachfront promenade, and family-run tavernas facing the water. The pebbles get hot enough by midday to need sandals.

Ancient Thira, the clifftop ruin at 396 metres, looms above but is a separate visit reached by its own road, not a stroll from the beach. Perissa lies on the other side of Mesa Vouno and is often paired with Kamari as the island's black-sand duo, though the two beaches don't connect directly on foot.
